In trying to keep with my goal of blogging more, I thought I would talk about what I’m currently reading.  About 2 months ago, my husband and I came across a new app.  My husband drives an hour each way to work so he has started to do a lot more audio books.  We got a deal last year with Audible, but his credits are nearly depleted.  We have library cards and there are numerous options for e-audios and we got to library pretty regularly, but we wanted something that would be a little easier to find books.  Enter Scribd.

This is easily the best $8 we spend a month.  It has both audio books and e-books and a lot of the content is newer things. I recently started listening to Gabrielle Union’s book.  I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan of hers, but what I’ve seen her in I’ve liked.  Plus, she went to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and she’s from Omaha.  That’s the way to this Cornhusker girls’ heart.

I also recently came across a book called We Are the Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson.  I have devoured a big chunk of this book already.  It’s so different than anything I’ve ever read.  It’s a pretty dark story but the writing is superb.  It’s funny and quirky while also being the dark story that I was expecting.

I’m also currently reading The Magicians.  I made a deal with the lovely Jane over at Ryder Author Resources  that I would read it if she read Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.  She flew through that book and loved it and is already about to start the sequel, so I need to get my butt in gear haha.

In also keeping with my goal to read a book I already own each month, I plan to read a book I don’t necessarily own, but one my boss loaned me.  Patrick Melrose.  She started to read it and got a little turned off by how dark it was.  I’m excited to give it a try, mostly because I want to watch the show afterwards haha.

It’s your turn!  What are you all currently reading?  What are you excited to read next?  Let me know!
